Hello.

I’m Nancy, and I teach Qigong and Beginner T’ai Chi classes.

Qi gong (“Chee Gong”) is practiced to cultivate and balance the body's "qi" (life force energy) through gentle movements and mindful breathing, aiming to improve overall health and well-being by reducing stress, enhancing flexibility, boosting immunity, promoting mental clarity, and potentially mitigating chronic pain, all while aligning the mind, body, and spirit through intentional practice rooted in traditional Chinese medicine.

My qigong classes vary in content, but usually include gentle movement, breath practice, self-massage, and mindfulness.

I encourage students to stay in their comfort zone and move at their own pace.  I keep my instructions simple and approachable for those who drop-in but vary the themes and point of focus so that those who come every week will have new material or a new way of looking at familiar forms.

Often, I begin with an intent that illuminates a qigong concept, such as effortless action and I end with a quotation from a reading that illustrates the class theme. I also like to explore the natural imagery suggested in the names of the forms and use that imagery to describe the movements. Although I am neither a qigong healer nor a T’ai Chi master, I seek to understand Traditional Chinese Medicine concepts, Taoist philosophy, and T’ai Chi principles.  I share what I learn with my students.

Qigong and T’ai Chi are beneficial to your physical and emotional health.

A regular practice can do the following:

  • improve balance, flexibility

  • improve sleep

  • enhance the immune system

  • increase range of motion in joints

  • increase energy level and stamina

  • decrease pain

  • process and release toxic emotions

  • reduce anxiety

  • reduce the effects of stress in the body

Qigong and T’ai Chi are backed by science.

Kind Words from Nancy’s Students

  • “Nancy is a very competent, clear, patient and educational instructor. She prepares both familiar and new material for each class. Her delivery/instruction is audible, understandable and easy to follow. She is patient with her students and aware of those who may need additional attention. She fosters & maintains a calm, relaxed setting in each class. She ends her classes with “food for thought” readings. I have taken two entire sessions of her Qigong classes and look forward to a third.”

  • “I really enjoy Nancy’s Qigong classes. She is very knowledgeable about Qigong and conveys its meaning to her students. I’ve learned a great deal about the relationship between movement, breathing, and the power of healing. Her voice is calming and brings a meditative quality to the class. I feel better and more relaxed after her sessions. I highly recommend her classes.”

  • “Nancy is a wonderful teacher. She first makes sure the room is comfortable. The forms are easy to follow and the narrative is fascinating. She is attentive to each student, suggesting alternative or gentler movements for those with physical limitations. She has a soothing voice which helps put you in the moment. Afterwards I feel strong and graceful. I took yoga for years but it was injuring my tendons and ligaments. Qigong is more about strengthening and healing.”

    ~ Martha Morris

  • “I have had the privilege of learning qigong from Nancy Goldberg and I cannot recommend her highly enough.

What sets Nancy apart is her unique approach to teaching Qigong.  She teaches the art of qigong with the science behind its benefits. Each movement is explained not just in terms of how to do it but also why it is beneficial for the body and mind. This has deepened my understanding of the practice and made it far more meaningful to me. Nancy is incredibly patient and attentive. No matter your level of experience, she creates environment that feels welcoming and encouraging.”
